Home Staging

What is Home Staging? Home Staging is when a home is professionally presented, furnished & decorated to provide the most current and fashionable appearance to appeal to the broadest spectrum of potential real estate purchasers.

Sondra started her career in staging in the 80’s when she worked for a retail store as a Visual Display Artist. She loved the idea of temporary art so much that she decided to go back to school for a degree, and theater arts was the closest she could come to the temporary art forum. She studied at Trinity College but wasn’t drawn to the stage but to directing and design. The interpretation of the play from a two dimensional format to a three dimensional visual expression was really where she excelled. She helped pay for her classes by working in the Costume Shop as a First Hand, and was often “farmed” out the Wesleyan University’s Drama Department to help with their productions.

As a Realtor, designer, artist, and former Art teacher, Sondra understands how important it is to upstage the competition. With her theoretical and practical knowledge she can really make a difference in the presentation of your home, farm, or office building. And, statistically speaking, staged homes sell faster than vacant ones.

Sondra’s resourcefulness in finding a theme for the right audience is spot on. Her services are offered as consultations, full staging with her own collection of inventory or using your furnishings – or perhaps a combination of both. Staging a home in today’s market is imperative right along side of pricing your home right to sell faster in a down market.
